Temitope Solaja, a fast-rising Nollywood actress, has opened up about her personal journey, career struggles, and admiration for veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
In a candid interview with Biola Bayo, Aruga revealed that Ogogo was her childhood crush, especially after his performance in the classic Yoruba movie Owo Blow.
“Ogogo used to be my crush. That was during the time of Owo Blow,” she confessed with a smile.
Struggles in America and Emotional Support from Lateef Adedimeji
Temitope also addressed rumors and challenges surrounding her relocation to the United States, including the false speculation that she moved abroad to give birth.
“People thought I was pregnant when I relocated and would have my child in America. I cried a lot and wondered if I had made the right decision. I just wanted to start over.”
She revealed she found comfort in her close friend and colleague Lateef Adedimeji, who encouraged her with prayers during her emotional turmoil.
“I called Lateef Adedimeji because we were very close then. He was in Mecca and he said, ‘Go and prosper,’ and prayed for me. I was crying because I’m a teary person,” she shared.
Passion for Acting and Return to the Big Screen
Temitope emphasized that her love for acting runs deep and is not driven by fame.
“I love my career, not because I want to be famous. If acting were like being a doctor, I’d still love it.”
She announced her return to the Nigerian movie scene and pleaded with fans to support her comeback.
“You guys have been asking me to come back, and I’m back. I don’t know how to do it, but I’ll keep doing it. When I produce my movie, please watch it with love. And for God’s sake, I don’t know how to dance,” she added humorously.
