Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is set to make a surprising switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray, according to multiple reports.
Nigerian broadcast journalist Buchi Laba, who is known to be close to the Super Eagles forward, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that Osimhen has given his approval for a permanent move to the Turkish club.
“Exclusive: Victor James Osimhen says YES to Galatasaray & wants to continue with the Turkish Team,” Laba wrote.
The update comes amid ongoing speculation about Osimhen’s future following a tense season with Napoli. Despite efforts by the Italian side to convince him to stay, Osimhen is reportedly firm on his decision to leave.
“Napoli for weeks have been pleading with Victor Osimhen to stay. Osimhen has made it very, very clear that he wants to leave,” Laba added.
Negotiations are currently ongoing between Napoli and Galatasaray over the payment structure for Osimhen’s release clause, which is believed to be set at €130 million.
A Game-Changer for Galatasaray?
Should the deal go through, it would mark one of the biggest transfer coups in Turkish football history. Osimhen, 25, is considered one of the most lethal forwards in Europe, having won the Capocannoniere (Serie A top scorer) in the 2022–23 season with 26 goals.
A move to Galatasaray would reunite the Nigerian striker with Champions League football, and possibly offer him a fresh start after a dramatic fallout with Napoli’s hierarchy.
What’s Next?
While either club has released no official statement, fans are closely watching for confirmation. Osimhen’s reported decision has already sent shockwaves across both Italian and Turkish football communities.
More updates are expected as negotiations continue.
