Nigerian singer and vocal powerhouse, Waje Iruobe, has called on citizens to support individuals who are speaking up for the well-being of ordinary Nigerians.
Taking to her Instagram story on Thursday, the music star criticized efforts to silence those who advocate for justice and fairness in society.
She wrote:
“Stop stifling the voice of well-meaning Nigerians that are concerned about the well-being of the common man. If you do what you are supposed to do, nobody will call you out. Selah.”
Waje’s message comes amid growing public discourse around civic activism and the treatment of outspoken Nigerians who challenge government policies or call for reforms.
The singer, known for her soulful voice and advocacy for social issues, has consistently used her platform to spotlight national concerns, from women’s rights to governance and accountability.
Her post is being praised by fans and fellow Nigerians who share similar frustrations about the suppression of dissenting voices in the country.
