“I Vomited Blood for Six Months” – Singer 9ice Opens Up on Spiritual Attack

Veteran Nigerian singer 9ice, real name Alexander Adegbola Akande, has revealed that he once battled a life-threatening spiritual attack that left him vomiting blood for six months.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Nancy Isime Show, the Gongo Aso crooner said the mysterious illness began around 2009/2010, and despite being in his own home, he had to leave due to the severity of the condition.

“When I was vomiting blood for about six months in my own house… It wasn’t a medical condition,” 9ice stated. “I had to leave my house.”

The singer, now 44, said his healing came after being introduced to Ifa, the Yoruba traditional spiritual system. He credited the traditional practice for saving his life.

“The first time I experienced Ifa was when I was vomiting blood. Someone referred me to Ifa,” he revealed.

9ice also openly declared that he no longer identifies as a Christian or Muslim, calling himself a traditionalist instead.

“I’m not a Christian or a Muslim. I’m a Babalawo. I’m an African… I just wished I had known Ifa at the beginning.”

Reflecting on how legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti was once ridiculed for his allegiance to Ogun, the Yoruba god of iron, 9ice said he now fully understands and respects traditional beliefs.
