The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has criticised the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as an “Uber” politician.
In a statement personally signed on Friday, LP National Chairman Julius Abure accused Obi of elevating subterfuge in politics and “crying wolf where there was none.”
According to Abure, Obi’s affiliations with multiple political parties reflect desperation to preside over Nigeria.
“It is unfortunate that Obi has turned himself to an irony and a paradox in the Nigerian political space. He has turned himself into an ‘Uber’ politician, not willing to take a position and stand by his decision,” he said.
The comments come in response to Obi’s directive urging his supporters to back African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in the August 16 by-elections.
DAILY POST recalls that the elections will take place across several states in the country.
