Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde, popularly known as Wasila Coded, has shared the terrifying health challenges she faced while pregnant with her daughter, revealing she received numerous death threats — even from people unaware she was expecting.
In an emotional Instagram post on Friday, Bimpe recounted how her pregnancy journey began with a low blood pressure diagnosis in January and was marked by constant health scares.
“I was in and out of the hospital on emergency treatment about six times during this pregnancy,” she wrote.
The actress recalled collapsing on fellow actor Kenny George during the filming of The Return of Sambala in Ikorodu in February, before rushing herself to a nearby clinic.
On July 17, during her regular Thursday clinic visit, she felt weak after treatment and decided to sleep over. The next morning, doctors informed her she was ready to deliver.
With gospel song Omo Oba Ma Beru playing in the background, she went into labour.
“Contraction no be anybody mate o,” she joked in Yoruba, describing the pain. Within three hours, Bimpe delivered her baby naturally without a Caesarean section — a delivery her clinic recorded as its fastest of the year.
“After almost 10 years… Mom and daughter doing fine. Dear God, it can only be you. Alhamdulilai Robil Alameen,” she expressed with gratitude.
Her revelation comes amid speculation over a viral TikTok video some believed was about her child’s father. Bimpe clarified that the clip was taken out of context from a live session where she discussed a fake account impersonating her.
Fans have also noticed signs of a possible rift between Bimpe and her husband, Yousuph Ganiyu. The couple, who tied the knot in June 2023 in a Nikah ceremony, have unfollowed each other on Instagram, deleted their photos together, and Yousuph has been absent from her posts since their daughter’s birth in July.
