Alexander Isak Tells Newcastle He’ll Never Play for Club Again Amid Liverpool Interest

Alexander Isak Goes AWOL

Alexander Isak has reportedly informed Newcastle United that he will not play for them again, regardless of whether his high-profile move to Liverpool is completed.

The Swedish striker, who has missed the entirety of pre-season, is believed to have reached breaking point with the club’s hierarchy after contract talks were halted last summer.

Although Isak remains under contract until 2028, sources say he took Newcastle’s stance as a signal to plan his exit. However, the club disputes this, insisting no formal decision was made to part ways.

Insiders claim Isak personally told manager Eddie Howe—both before the end of last season and after the final match against Everton—that his time on Tyneside was over.

Liverpool’s initial £110 million bid in early August was rejected, but the Reds remain keen on securing his services.

Newcastle are reportedly holding out for close to £150 million, with any sale likely dependent on them finding a suitable replacement.
