Music producer Benny Blanco has stirred outrage after posting a TikTok video showing himself indulging in a luxury box of blueberries worth a staggering $200.
The 37-year-old, who is engaged to pop superstar Selena Gomez, showed off the extravagant fruit packaged in sleek black casing, with each berry placed in its own individual compartment.
In the viral clip, Blanco appeared stunned as he marveled at the size of the berries, saying:
“These blueberries they just sent me are the biggest things I’ve seen in the world. Watch. They come, like, individually packed. This is insane. Look at this blueberry!”
Taking a bite, he continued: “It’s like a fking meal. Can you guys even see the scale of this? They are fking huge. They are delicious. I think the boxes are like $200.”
While Blanco seemed thrilled by the lavish treat, social media users were quick to slam the display of wealth, especially amid a global cost-of-living crisis.
One fan wrote: “Sir, we’re not rich enough to relate to this,” while another quipped: “Meanwhile I can’t afford regular fruit.”
Others compared the moment to dystopian fiction, with one user commenting: “It’s giving Hunger Games,” and another adding: “Watching from District 13.”
Some fans did come to his defense, however, arguing that Blanco has earned his success and can spend as he pleases.
The clip, which has racked up thousands of comments, highlights the sharp divide online when it comes to celebrity spending habits.
Blanco, who announced his engagement to Gomez earlier this year, has yet to directly address the backlash.
