Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has reportedly agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, signaling the end of his underwhelming spell at Anfield.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Liverpool and Al-Hilal reached an agreement on Wednesday morning for a fee worth €65 million, including bonuses.
Nunez, who joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 for a club-record £85 million, struggled to live up to expectations, netting just seven goals in 47 appearances last season.
The Uruguayan had attracted initial interest from AC Milan and Napoli, but Al-Hilal moved swiftly to meet both Liverpool’s demands and Nunez’s steep salary expectations, which have reportedly been accepted in full.
Only medical tests and final paperwork remain before the deal is officially completed.
The transfer marks another major acquisition for Saudi football and ends Nunez’s three-season stint with Liverpool, during which consistency and finishing remained key concerns.
