Prosecutors Push Back Against Diddy’s Bid for Retrial After “Freak Offs” Conviction

Diddy Denied Bail, To Remain in Jail Until Sentencing

Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing tough opposition in his latest legal maneuver. The 55-year-old mogul’s lawyers filed a motion seeking either an acquittal or a retrial after he was convicted on two counts of transportation for engaging in prostitution — tied to allegations that he flew girlfriends and male escorts across state lines for so-called “freak offs.”

While Diddy was cleared of the most serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, prosecutors argue that the guilty verdicts should stand. In a court filing, they stated there was “ample evidence” proving he orchestrated the encounters.

The filing alleged Diddy not only arranged the travel of escorts but also directed sexual activity for his gratification and participated himself.

His defense team countered that the verdict is unprecedented, stressing that participants engaged voluntarily and that no women were deemed vulnerable, exploited, or trafficked.

Prosecutors, however, stood firm, writing: “Evidence of the defendant’s guilt on the Mann Act counts was overwhelming.”

Diddy now awaits sentencing in October, where each count carries up to 10 years in prison. Though acquitted of the most severe charges, the Bad Boy founder still faces significant prison time if the convictions are upheld.
