Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent, Enzo Raiola, has threatened legal action against Paris Saint-Germain after the Italy international was dropped from the squad by manager Luis Enrique ahead of their Super Cup clash with Tottenham on Wednesday.
Enrique said the decision was based on the need for a “different profile” in goal, but Raiola slammed the move as “a huge lack of respect,” accusing the club of backtracking despite recent progress in contract renewal talks.
Raiola revealed that negotiations to extend Donnarumma’s deal had been moving forward before the Club World Cup, with PSG indicating their willingness to keep him. However, he claimed the situation took an unexpected turn in the last ten days, prompting him to consult legal experts to clarify the club’s intentions.
With Donnarumma sidelined, Lucas Chevalier, recently signed from Lille, is expected to start. The 25-year-old goalkeeper is now being linked with a Premier League move, with Manchester City and Manchester United named as possible destinations — though City’s interest could depend on Ederson’s departure.
Donnarumma joined PSG in 2021 and played a key role in the club’s Champions League triumph last season.
