Sudan head coach Kwesi Appiah has suggested that Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team requires improved coaching despite having quality players.
Appiah made the comment on Tuesday after his side handed Nigeria a heavy 4–0 defeat in the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN). Goals came from Leonard Ngenge’s own goal, Walieldin Khedr, and a brace from Abdel Raouf.
The result eliminated Eric Chelle’s men from the tournament.
Speaking to reporters, Appiah admitted he anticipated victory but not such a wide margin.
“The Nigerian team is not bad. They just need better coaching,” he said.
“I wasn’t expecting that scoreline. I knew we could beat Nigeria but not [4-0].”
