The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered the arrest of a former staff member, Olakunle Alex Folarin, after he appeared on Lege Miami’s matchmaking show, flaunting an EFCC identity card.
In a statement released on Monday via its official X handle, the Commission disclosed that Folarin, who previously worked as a driver at the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was recently dismissed after investigations revealed he forged his academic credentials.
According to the EFCC, Folarin failed to return some of the Commission’s property, including his official identity card, which should have been handed over upon his dismissal.
The statement read in part:
“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, condemns in the strongest terms, the involvement of one of its former staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking programme running on Lege Miami’s social media platforms. Folarin was recently dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. He was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.”
The EFCC Chairman has since directed that Folarin be arrested, while the Commission further urged the public not to associate his post-dismissal conduct with the EFCC.
