Elijah Blue Allman, son of music legend Cher, has been ordered to pay his estranged wife, Marieangela King, $6,500 (£4,840) per month in temporary spousal support.
According to Us Weekly, the ruling came after he missed a court hearing linked to King’s divorce petition, reportedly due to an alleged drug overdose. Court documents show that Allman failed to respond to the petition, prompting the judge to proceed without him.
King, who attended the hearing with her lawyer, testified that she has been unemployed since 2009 and urgently needed financial assistance. She also revealed she was unsure of his income and assets, noting the need for a forensic accountant to investigate his finances.
The development follows Allman’s June hospitalisation after an alleged overdose in Joshua Tree, California — an incident that occurred months after Cher abandoned efforts to place him under a conservatorship.
