Rapper and reality TV star Erica Banks was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after TSA officers discovered a stolen gun inside her Louis Vuitton purse during security checks. The firearm was flagged as stolen from Greenville, South Carolina.
Banks, best known for her viral hit “Buss It” and appearances on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm at an airport.
She was booked into Clayton County Jail around 9:50 p.m. and released just over an hour later.
Her attorney, Jackie Patterson, has maintained her innocence, saying she was unaware the gun was stolen and intends to clear her name.
Banks has yet to make an official public statement regarding the incident.
