The Nigerian government has sounded the alarm over the circulation of fake Cowbell ‘Our Milk’ across markets nationwide.
In a statement released on Friday, the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) confirmed the disturbing development after being alerted by Promasidor Nigeria Limited, the authorised manufacturer of the popular brand.
According to NAFDAC, the counterfeit product closely resembles the original Cowbell Our Milk 12g sachet, making it difficult for unsuspecting consumers to spot the difference.
The agency, however, stressed that the product is fake and dangerous.
“The use or consumption of counterfeit Cowbell ‘Our Milk’ presents serious health and safety risks,” NAFDAC warned.
The agency urged Nigerians to be vigilant when purchasing the products and report suspicious items for investigation.
