Gaise Baba Celebrates 39th Birthday, Reflects on Mother’s Death and Music Breakthrough

Gospel Singer Gaise Baba Opens Up on Purity Struggles, Addiction & Breakthrough with Hit Song ‘No Turning Back’

Nigerian gospel singer Gaise Baba marked his 39th birthday on Tuesday with a deeply emotional message reflecting on the loss of his mother and the recent transformation in his music career.

Born Samuel Gboluwaga Akinade Ibuoye, the “No Turning Back” crooner shared heartfelt photos and reflections on Instagram, noting the bittersweet nature of this year’s celebration.

“It’s a mixed feelings kinda birthday… Mummy would have called/messaged me at 12midnight; clockwork, without fail,” he wrote.
“And so last night I teared up a bit, cos I knew I won’t be getting that call this time.”

Gaise Baba’s mother, Sarah Ibuoye, passed away earlier this year. Despite the personal loss, the artist shared that the past three months have been life-changing, especially with the impact of his latest music.

“As an artiste, my life has literally changed in the last three months! So I guess you can see how it’s a day with conflicted emotions.”

He added that he remains grateful and anchored in faith, even in the midst of grief.

“In all things still, we give thanks. For the pleasant and the painful, we judge Him faithful! This is 39, and Abba’s golden boy is ever evolving like fine wine.”

“The LORD Himself mothers me now, and I experience His multi-breasted-ness! Happy Birthday, Samuel Gboluwaga Akinade IBUOYE, Ọmọ Sarah!!!!”

Rise of ‘No Turning Back II’

In recent months, Gaise Baba has experienced renewed attention in the gospel music scene following the viral success of ‘No Turning Back II’, a collaborative track with gospel minister Lawrence Oyor. The song sparked widespread conversation online, praised by many for its spiritual depth and unique blend of sound, though it also drew criticism from some quarters.
