Actress and singer Halle Bailey has added another milestone to her flourishing career — this time, for her advocacy on behalf of women and maternal health.
The Little Mermaid star, who welcomed her son Halo in 2023, has been open about her postpartum struggles. Her honesty and advocacy were recognized on August 16, when she received an award from nonprofit Project Pit during the launch of its first Maternal Health Summit at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
The initiative aims to shine a light on maternal health challenges and solutions, with a special focus on supporting Black and Brown women.
Expressing her gratitude, Halle Bailey said:
“I want to thank the City of Los Angeles for this incredible honor. To be recognized for speaking up about maternal health and my own postpartum journey is really humbling ❤️ just a reminder that vulnerability is not a weakness, it’s the bridge that connects us all.”
The recognition comes amid Halle Bailey’s very public challenges with ex-partner DDG concerning their son, but it also underscores her resilience and dedication to turning personal struggles into empowerment for other women.
