Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has reportedly been targeted in a violent burglary at his £5 million mansion in Sandbanks, one of the UK’s most prestigious coastal neighbourhoods.
According to reports, masked intruders armed with sledgehammers broke into the property while Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra, both aged 78, were away. The gang allegedly smashed through the front door and stole jewellery and other luxury items belonging to Sandra.
The incident, described as “clearly organised,” was captured on CCTV, with footage reportedly showing the burglars ransacking the home in search of valuables.
“They used lump hammers and a sledgehammer to smash the front door open,” a source told The Sun.
“It was clearly organised and they must have known the house was empty at the time.”
The mansion is currently up for sale as the Redknapps prepare to move to a new residence. A spokesperson for Redknapp confirmed the burglary but offered limited comment:
“Harry doesn’t want to make a fuss. No one was in the house at the time, and we don’t want to comment on what was taken. It’s a matter for the police.”
Harry Redknapp, who last managed Birmingham City in 2017, is well known for his managerial roles at Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth, and West Ham United, notably guiding Spurs to their first UEFA Champions League appearance.
Married since 1968, Harry Redknapp and Sandra have two sons: Jamie Redknapp, a former Liverpool and Tottenham player now working as a Sky Sports pundit, and Mark Redknapp.
Police investigations are ongoing, though an official statement has yet to be released.
