A drug dealer nicknamed the “Ketamine Queen” has agreed to plead guilty to supplying the drugs that led to the tragic death of Friends star Matthew Perry, according to the US Department of Justice.
Jasveen Sangha, 42, a dual US and UK citizen, will admit to multiple charges, including distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury. She has been held in federal custody since August 2024 and is expected to formally enter her plea in the coming weeks.
Sangha becomes the fifth person to take responsibility in connection with Perry’s passing. The beloved actor, who was open about his long battle with addiction, was found dead in his Los Angeles home hot tub in October 2023, with an autopsy revealing high levels of ketamine in his system.
Court documents show Sangha supplied 51 vials of ketamine to Perry’s assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, who injected the actor multiple times on the day of his death, October 28, 2023. Prosecutors said those injections directly caused Perry’s fatal overdose.
When news of Perry’s death broke, Sangha reportedly attempted to cover her tracks, telling a middleman to “delete all our messages.”
A raid on her home uncovered a stash of drugs including methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, counterfeit Xanax, as well as a money counting machine, scales, and surveillance detection devices.
Sangha will plead guilty to charges including maintaining a drug-involved premises, distribution of ketamine, and distribution resulting in death or serious injury, which could see her sentenced to decades in prison.
Other individuals linked to Perry’s death, including doctors Mark Chavez and Salvador Plasencia, have already pleaded guilty to supplying ketamine, with more court proceedings expected in the coming months.
Matthew Perry, best known for playing the witty and sarcastic Chandler Bing on Friends, had struggled with addiction for decades, undergoing multiple surgeries after a drug-related colon rupture in 2018. In his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry detailed his long battle with substance abuse, saying he had endured detox “sixty or seventy times.”
