Media personality Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco has paused her podcast, Timeline with LaConco, citing behind-the-scenes hurdles and challenges in securing the right guests.
The reality star, who is also known as the mother of former president Jacob Zuma’s child, revealed the update during a recent Instagram Live session. According to her, the podcast was never about making money, but about sharing real and meaningful stories.
“The podcast’s purpose was never to generate revenue but to reveal the truth. However, because of the name, Timeline with LaConco,” she explained.
Initially, LaConco envisioned hosting individuals with powerful stories to tell. She explained:
“I decided I couldn’t just sit on the couch and talk about myself on every episode, but I had to let others share their timelines too. I invited people whom I believed had brilliant stories and met a certain standard, but they didn’t respond. I don’t know if they didn’t want to come or if there was another reason, but until God redirects the purpose of the show, it’s on hold.”
LaConco made it clear that she does not push for responses, saying:
“Unfortunately, I’m not the kind of person who begs or keeps reminding people. If you don’t respond to my invite, I take it as if you’ve declined.”
She further admitted that not having a strong enough team to secure quality guests contributed to the pause.
Despite this setback, LaConco noted that the first five episodes performed very well when she launched the podcast earlier in 2025, covering her personal journey, weight loss, career, and relationships.
However, viewership has since declined. Her debut episode on 28 February reached over 514,000 views, but by 16 May, her most recent episode had dropped to just over 67,000 views.
For now, LaConco says the podcast is on hold until she feels the time and circumstances are right for a return.
