Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter is embracing her lane in the ever-changing world of pop culture, even if that means not resonating with all audiences.
The 26-year-old star is currently promoting her freshly released album Man’s Best Friend, and during a recent sit-down with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, she opened up about the project, romance, and her journey in the spotlight.
Carpenter candidly addressed misconceptions about artists needing to appeal to everyone, saying:
“You don’t have to like what I do. I think there’s this weird misconception that every artist has to check every box for everyone to like everything about them. It’s never been that way. It’s never going to be. I’m ok if Tommy from Arkansas doesn’t like what I do.”
The singer-actress, who has steadily carved a unique identity for herself in the music industry, also reflected on the creative direction of Man’s Best Friend, describing it as her most personal and playful body of work yet.
Known for her rising chart success and unapologetic confidence, Carpenter continues to prove that she is content with being authentically herself—whether the whole world approves or not.
