Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman has officially handed in a transfer request to Serie A side Atalanta, expressing his desire to join Inter Milan.
According to renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lookman’s decision comes after Atalanta reportedly rejected several offers from Inter.
“EXCL: Ademola Lookman has now handed in a transfer request,” Romano revealed via X on Sunday.
“The Nigerian forward has officially asked Atalanta to leave the club after Italian side rejected Inter opening bid. Lookman wants to join Inter.”
Sources close to the player say the player is furious with Atalanta’s refusal to sanction the move and is now pushing to force the transfer through.
The 26-year-old forward, who played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League triumph, is reportedly eager to take the next step in his career at a club competing regularly for domestic titles and Champions League glory.
Negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming days as Inter weigh their next move.
