Nigeria’s Middle Class Has Been Wiped Out Under Tinubu – Falana

Falana

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria and human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has asserted that Nigeria’s middle class has effectively disappeared under the current administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Falana made the claim on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he raised concerns over Tinubu’s economic reforms and described the government’s approach as “harsh neoliberal policies” that have worsened poverty levels in the country.

He accused the administration of deepening income inequality by concentrating national resources in the hands of a few individuals.

“You cannot be addressing income inequality in a country while handing over the nation’s resources to a few people in the name of privatisation,” he said.

“Most Nigerians cannot afford three square meals a day.

“The middle class has been wiped out by the neoliberal policies of the government.”

He warned that the government must act swiftly to revise its policies in the interest of the people.

“It is in the interest of the government to review its policies as soon as possible,” Falana stated.
