Galatasaray head coach, Okan Buruk, has confirmed that Victor Osimhen will feature against Karagumruk on Friday, following his absence in the 3-0 win over Gaziantep.
Buruk explained that the Nigerian striker had been left out of the previous match to allow him more time to regain full fitness, after joining pre-season late due to protracted transfer negotiations from Napoli.
However, his return to Turkey has coincided with an unexpected controversy. The Bulut Mosque in Konya was recently listed on Google Maps as “Victor Osimhen Mosque,” sparking outrage among worshippers.
A member of the community, Zeki Yaylacı, condemned the change, calling it “an insult to Muslims, the mosque community, and mosques themselves.”
Reports suggest Osimhen was not involved in the renaming, which appears to be the result of inaccurate user edits on Google Maps.
