Lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has once again launched a scathing attack on politician Peter Obi, labeling him a “political fraud and prostitute.”
Speaking during an interview on Channels TV on Thursday, Deji Adeyanju addressed a letter Obi had sent to him threatening to file a defamation lawsuit. He alleged that during the 2023 election campaign, Obi invited him to a private location and offered him money in exchange for his support — an offer he said he rejected.
“In the wake of the 2023 elections, I was expressing my thoughts on why the opposition needed to unite against the APC. I was excited about the idea of Obi’s candidacy, but I did not want to join the bandwagon,” Adeyanju stated.
According to him, after a meeting facilitated by one of Obi’s aides, Obi allegedly offered him an envelope as “something small” for his time, which he refused. “I laughed and told him that means he does not know me. I said God forbid and left,” Adeyanju claimed.
He further accused Obi’s supporters, popularly called Obidients, of running a toxic political movement during the elections. “They insulted people, slandered people, threatened Supreme Court and Court of Appeal judges, attacked artistes, and even insulted Professor Wole Soyinka. The Obidients are the most toxic political movement we have ever witnessed in this country after the Buharists,” he said.
Deji Adeyanju insisted that truth would serve as his defense if Obi pursued a defamation case. “What are the things I said? He is a political fraud. Of course, he is. Didn’t he swear he would never leave APGA? He left APGA. The only thing I forgot to say is that he is a political prostitute,” he added.
