Sowore Mocks Tinubu Over Claim That “There Is No More Corruption in Nigeria”

Sowore Rejects 2027 Opposition Coalition, Labels Members as "Looters"

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has ridiculed President Bola Tinubu following his controversial remarks in Brazil.

On Monday, President Tinubu met with Brazilian investors, assuring them that Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms are producing tangible results. The president further claimed that since taking office in 2023, there is now “no more corruption” in the country.

“It’s getting clearer to the people. We have more money for the economy, and no more corruption,” Tinubu boasted.

The statement immediately drew widespread criticism from Nigerians, many of whom dismissed the president’s declaration as untrue.

Reacting on Tuesday, Sowore shared a clip of Tinubu’s speech via his official Facebook page, accusing the president of lying to the international community.

He wrote:

“This criminal actually went to Brazil to state that there is NO MORE corruption under his regime in Nigeria. What audacity to lie shamelessly!”

Sowore’s criticism adds to the growing wave of backlash trailing the president’s comments, as debates on corruption and governance in Nigeria continue to dominate public discourse.
