Taylor Swift is ushering in her next musical chapter with a wave of new trademark filings. Just hours before announcing her upcoming twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, the 35-year-old pop superstar’s company, TAS Rights Management LLC, applied to trademark the acronym “TLOAS” for a wide range of products.
The filing covers everything from music recordings and instruments to jewelry, candles, apparel, and phone accessories. Some unexpected items on the list include incense burners, wireless speakers, inflatable toys, puzzle board games, paint brushes, shoelaces, Christmas tree skirts, and bean bags. While the filing doesn’t guarantee all of these products will be produced, it follows a pattern for Taylor Swift, who has made similar moves for previous album eras.
Details about The Life of a Showgirl remain scarce, but fans are already speculating.
Swift’s latest Spotify playlist features tracks produced by Max Martin and Shellback, hinting at their possible involvement in the project. She announced the album via a countdown on her website on August 11, which ended at 12:12 a.m. the next day.
Taylor Swift will share more about the record during an upcoming appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce. A teaser clip showed her revealing the album title to an unsuspecting Jason Kelce, with the cover art blurred out.
Swift’s New Heights episode will premiere on Wednesday, August 13, at 7 p.m. ET, and The Life of a Showgirl is slated for release later this year.
