Celebrity fashion designer Veekee James has set social media abuzz after locking the comment section of her latest Instagram post, amid a wave of congratulatory messages from fans who believe she may be expecting her first child.
The designer had originally shared a touching highlight celebrating the grand opening of her mother’s new store. In the clip, she praised the overwhelming support of friends who turned up and purchased items worth millions of naira to boost the business.
Captioning the video, Veekee wrote:
“POV: Your friends came out in their numbers and bought goods worth millions from your mom.”
But what was intended as a celebration of her mother’s milestone quickly shifted into a frenzy of speculation. Fans flooded the comments with congratulatory notes, many of which hinted at pregnancy.
One user, @its_mole, commented: “Oh my God, it’s the season of fruitfulness. Congratulations to her.”
Another, @bisola_osuntokun2, wrote: “It’s the season for fruitful wombs. Father, please remember everyone.”

As the pregnancy rumours gained momentum, Veekee James eventually disabled comments on the post, making it inaccessible to her followers.
The speculation comes months after Veekee’s lavish wedding to her husband, Femi Atere, earlier this year — a ceremony that trended across Nigerian social media for days.
So far, the fashion designer has not issued any statement addressing the rumours.
