Nigerian actress Yvonne Nelson has taken a walk down memory lane, reminiscing about her time on a 2007 Nollywood movie set that left a lasting impression on her — particularly because of Genevieve Nnaji’s kindness.
In a heartfelt post shared on social media, Yvonne Jegede revealed that the movie marked a turning point in her career, as she left the set and headed straight to the airport to begin a five-year break from Nollywood in pursuit of further studies.
“This matter long ooo, see what someone sent to me. 2007, from this movie set, I left straight to the airport and left Nollywood for 5 years to go study. I even almost missed my flight,” she wrote.
She went on to express her deep admiration for Genevieve Nnaji, describing her as “too kind and sweet”, and credited the veteran actress for making the experience a warm and pleasant one.
“Truthfully, this movie is why I always adore Genevieve. She was too kind and sweet to me on this project — very warm and pleasant,” she added.
Yvonne also admitted that she can no longer recall the title of the film and asked fans to help identify it:
“If you know the name of this movie, please indicate because me sef don’t remember.”
The post has sparked nostalgia among fans of early 2000s Nollywood-Ghallywood collaborations and reignited appreciation for Genevieve’s enduring influence in the African film industry.
