The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), held on Sunday, September 8, at the UBS Arena in New York, were a star-studded night of music, fashion, and history-making wins. Hosted by rap legend LL Cool J, the ceremony saw some of the world’s biggest artists walk away with top honors.
Lady Gaga Leads With Four Wins
Pop icon Lady Gaga was the biggest winner of the night, clinching four awards, including Artist of the Year and Best Collaboration with Bruno Mars for their smash hit “Die With a Smile.” Gaga also picked up Best Direction and Best Art Direction for her visually stunning “Abracadabra.”
Ariana Grande Scores Video of the Year
Superstar Ariana Grande delivered one of the evening’s most emotional moments as she accepted Video of the Year for “Brighter Days Ahead.” The track also earned her Best Pop and Best Longform Video, bringing her total to three wins.
Sabrina Carpenter Wins Album of the Year
Rising pop powerhouse Sabrina Carpenter continued her winning streak, taking home three Moon Person trophies, including Album of the Year for Short n’ Sweet and Best Visual Effects for “Manchild.”
