Nigerian culinary talent Chef Dammy has dismissed rumors that she is preparing to cook the largest pot of beans in the world.
The chef, who rose to fame in 2023 after her much-talked-about cook-a-thon attempt, clarified the speculation in a recent statement while also celebrating fellow chef Hilda Baci’s Guinness World Record achievement.
Congratulates Hilda Baci
Dammy praised Baci for her recognition by the Guinness World Records (GWR) for cooking the largest pot of jollof rice, describing it as a win for Nigeria’s food industry.
“This recognition is not just for Hilda, but for the entire Nigerian culinary space. It puts our food culture on the global map in a special way,” she said.
Clears the Air on “Pot of Beans” Speculation
Addressing the rumors about a planned beans record attempt, Dammy made it clear that she has no such project in the works.
“I want to set the record straight: I have no plans to cook the largest pot of beans. My focus is on growing my brand, expanding my culinary ventures, and inspiring young Nigerians passionate about cooking,” she explained.
Focus on Culinary Growth
Since her 2023 cook-a-thon brought her into the spotlight, Chef Dammy has been channeling her energy into building a strong brand presence while also mentoring and motivating aspiring chefs.
Her statement underscores her commitment to making long-term contributions to Nigeria’s culinary scene rather than chasing viral feats.
