The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has announced a five-day warning strike, set to begin Friday, September 12, 2025.
The move was confirmed in a statement by Agbor Affiong, General Secretary of the Association of Resident Doctors, FCTA. According to him, the decision came after an online NEC meeting that stretched into the early hours of Thursday.
“The strike will commence at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, 12th September 2025, and will end on Tuesday, 16th September 2025. All centres are hereby directed to duly inform their hospital managements and continue to press home our collective demands,” the statement read.
NARD President, Osundara Zenith, had earlier revealed that members were prepared to shut down public hospitals nationwide to demand better working conditions, improved pay, power supply, recognition of certificates, and an end to staff shortages.
The announcement comes as resident doctors under FCT ARD are already on a separate seven-day warning strike that began earlier this week.
