The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its planned nationwide strike earlier scheduled to begin on January 12.
The suspension was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the association’s Secretary-General, Shuaibu Ibrahim.
NARD had initially announced the strike following its emergency National Executive Council (E-NEC) meeting held on January 2, citing unresolved demands from the Federal Government.
No further details were provided on the reasons for the suspension or whether negotiations with the government are ongoing.
