Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has described teammate Ademola Lookman as his brother, downplaying their brief on-field disagreement during Nigeria’s AFCON campaign.
The two players were seen having a heated exchange during Nigeria’s 2-0 quarter-final win over Algeria on Saturday, but have since reconciled.
Speaking after the match in an interview with Canal+, Osimhen dismissed any tension between them, describing the incident as a normal football misunderstanding.
“Lookman is my brother. What happened was just a misunderstanding, but you know, this is football,” the Galatasaray forward said.
“There is nothing to say about my brother. We are very close on the field.”
Both players have been instrumental for Nigeria at the tournament, with Osimhen recording four goals and two assists, while Lookman has contributed three goals and five assists so far.
