Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has called on Lagos residents to take home food from her recently concluded Guinness World Record attempt for the largest pot of jollof rice.
The event, which took place at Eko Hotel in Lagos, produced thousands of kilograms of rice. Despite large-scale packaging and distribution, a significant portion still remains.
In a video posted on Instagram, Baci encouraged people to come with containers to pick up their share.
“We’re still packaging food. There is still so much food. Please, you guys, come through and come and get the food. It’s a lot and we cannot waste it,” she said.
She further emphasized her commitment to ensuring none of the food goes to waste.
“This is 6 a.m. I’m not leaving this place. I’ve been here since the day before yesterday. And I’m not going to leave this place until this pot is empty and until everybody in Lagos has eaten from this food.”
Hilda Baci gained global recognition in 2023 when she cooked continuously for 93 hours and 11 minutes, setting a Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
Her latest feat with the largest pot of jollof rice once again highlights her passion for food, community, and culture.
