Early Life and Education
Idia Aisien (born on July 4, 1991, 34 years old) is from Edo State, Nigeria. Her parents are Joe Aisien and Emmanuella Aisien, a jeweller.
Idia, the youngest of 12, grew up laughing and learning alongside her siblings. She started strong at Atlantic Hall High School, where she graduated at the age of 15, already looking ahead to bigger opportunities.
After graduating from American University in Washington, D.C., with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Business Administration, she flew to the United States to hone her skills.

New York University later added an M.S. in International Public Relations and Global Corporate Communications, transforming her late-night reading into a valuable tool for her work in the media.
That back and forth—American classrooms giving her an advantage, Nigerian roots stoking her fire—was what prepared her to bridge worlds and demonstrate early on that intelligence and a spark could open any door.
Career
Idia Aisien began her career at a young age, joining Beth Models at the age of 15 and landing her first catwalk spot during a UNICEF charity event for children in Lagos, where the lights and cause were perfectly aligned.
She progressed from there, modelling for American labels such as Alice + Olivia and J Brand, as well as African icons like Maki Oh and Deola Sagoe, and appearing in magazines ranging from Vogue to Genevieve.

After graduating in 2011, she began her career in communications, interning at AARP on women’s stories, volunteering at The Wall Street Journal, and assisting at American University.
She then moved on to NYU, securing positions at Fox 5 News, Discovery Communications, the UN’s Peacebuilding Office, and Atlas Mara.
She moved on to Arise TV as a business anchor, blending crisp news with that effortless charm, before transitioning into acting with her 2020 breakout as Nneka in the Netflix version of Nneka the Pretty Serpent.
This role garnered praise for her powerful and complex presence. That gave way to Bad Boys and Bridesmaids as the top brides, Hijack ’93 as a tense heist, and Twin Flame for more emotional depth.
She has also presented major events such as the Future Awards Africa 2023 and the AMVCA red carpets, as well as advertisements for Remy Martin, Lancôme, and Nivea.
