Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his excitement after completing a move to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.
The transfer was confirmed on Tuesday, with the Nigerian international joining the Glasgow giants on a free transfer following the termination of his contract with Spanish side Sevilla.
The 28-year-old forward has signed a one-year deal with the option of an additional year, reuniting with manager Brendan Rodgers, under whom he previously played at Leicester City.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Iheanacho said he is eager to begin this new chapter:
“I’m excited to be a Celtic player and I’m feeling really good about it. Celtic is a massive club and I’ve been following them for a long time.”
The move marks an important step in Iheanacho’s career as he looks to bring his experience and goal-scoring prowess to the Scottish champions.
