Beloved actress Nelisa Mchunu is officially returning to Uzalo, reprising her iconic role as the bold and stylish Fikile after a four-year hiatus. Fans can expect her grand comeback on Wednesday, 24 September 2025.
Speaking on her return, Nelisa described the experience as a heartfelt reunion with her “first love,” saying:
“What to expect from my character’s return is the same ‘Beyoncé’ energy. Also, a wild ride between the old Fikile and the new Sbu. My sentiments are that Uzalo will always be my first home. What I learnt being on Uzalo has stayed with me as I’ve grown and reached new heights in my career. I’ll be reconnecting with people I’ve known for years. And I’m excited to meet the new team members.”
Fikile’s storyline picks up in KwaMashu, where she resurfaces after disappearing for years and leaving behind a heartbroken Sbu. Her charm, beauty, and history with him come rushing back, pulling him into a whirlwind of emotions he can’t resist. True to form, Fikile hasn’t lost her sharp edge—she’s as bold, cunning, and captivating as ever.
Her return comes with even more exciting news for Uzalo fans. The show will also introduce new characters, including Mondli Nkomo as Mr. Dongwe and Jamy Lee Simons as Joanne.
