Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva is receiving an outpouring of love and sympathy from fans and colleagues following the passing of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva.
The screen icon, who is married to legendary actor Olu Jacobs, shared the sad news on Instagram, revealing that her brother died at the age of 73.
In her heartfelt tribute, she described him as “easy-going” and offered prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul.
“With acceptance of God’s Sovereign will. We announce the call to Glory of my dear brother John Olabiyi Silva, long John Silva. Bros B… Uncle B… My easy-going, lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd, 1953 – August 29th, 2025,” joke silva wrote.
The announcement has since drawn condolences from Nollywood stars, friends, and admirers, who have filled her page with comforting words and prayers for strength for the Silva family.
