Justin Bieber has stunned fans by releasing his second unexpected album of the year.
Two months after dropping Swag without notice, the pop star revealed on Thursday that a follow-up project titled Swag II would arrive the next day. He announced the release by sharing images of the pink album cover displayed on billboards and landmarks across the globe.
While Swag included 21 tracks with a 54-minute runtime, Swag II doubles the experience, boasting 44 songs and lasting 2 hours and 11 minutes. The album features collaborations with Tems, Bakar, Hurricane Chris, Lil B, Eddie Benjamin, Gunna, Sexxy Red, comedian Druski, and others.
Although Justin Bieber promised fans a midnight release, the album didn’t immediately appear on streaming platforms, causing frustration among listeners. The 31-year-old addressed their impatience in a series of Instagram posts, joking about his own confusion over the delay.
“It’s comingggggg (sic),” he wrote in one caption, before adding, “Me waiting with u, not baiting u not sure wut the f**kkyyy is going on clicking refreshhhhhh (sic)” and, “I’m sorry for the wait their (sic) telling me any second.”
An hour after midnight in California, the album finally went live, with Bieber sharing screenshots to confirm its arrival on major platforms.
This marks the first time Justin Bieber has released two albums in the same year. Prior to Swag’s surprise drop in July, his last studio effort was 2021’s Justice.
