Popular British-Nigerian author and content creator Toni Tone has tied the knot with her fiancé, Taiwo Ogebule, popularly known as Taye9ja, in a vibrant traditional wedding ceremony held in Lagos.
The couple, who got engaged in June 2024, had earlier sealed their union with a Yoruba introduction ceremony, where Toni’s family officially accepted Taye’s proposal.
Toni, who gained recognition for her bestselling book “I Wish I Knew This Earlier: Lessons on Love,” announced her engagement last year with stunning photos and a heartfelt message reflecting on how their long-distance love blossomed through intentionality.
A Stylish Celebration
In the days leading up to their wedding, the pair released breathtaking pre-wedding photos that showcased their chemistry and sense of style. Toni stunned in a custom beaded corset blouse and skirt by designer Amy Aghomi, while Taye looked dapper in a regal agbada and cap.
Sharing a teaser online, Toni captioned one of the photos:
“This is just the warm-up… Husband and wife still loading.”
Joyful Wedding Moments
Fresh photos and clips from the traditional wedding, held on Thursday, captured Toni glowing with joy as she fully embraced her Nigerian heritage alongside her husband.
One video showed Taye lifting his new bride effortlessly, to which Toni playfully wrote on Instagram:
“If he can’t curl me, I don’t want him 💪🏾😅.”
Other heartwarming moments included Toni reciting her vows, dancing with her bridesmaids, and sharing intimate, love-filled exchanges with her groom.
The event has since sparked warm reactions online, with fans and well-wishers congratulating the couple on their union.
