Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a 50 per cent reduction in train transportation fares for residents on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The governor made the disclosure in a statement shared via his X account on Wednesday, explaining that the discount is in commemoration of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line’s two-year anniversary.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the service has successfully transported over five million passengers in two years without a single recorded accident.
“To mark this second anniversary, I am pleased to announce a 50% reduction in fares on the Blue Line for tomorrow, Thursday, September 4, 2025. If you have not yet experienced the Blue Line, I encourage you to take a ride and see what we have built together,” he wrote.
The Lagos Blue Line officially commenced operations on September 4, 2023.
