Offset has made it clear there’s no rivalry between him and his estranged wife, Cardi B, despite both artists dropping new albums within weeks of each other.
The Migos rapper released his third solo project, Kiari, on 22 August, while Cardi is set to release her long-awaited sophomore album, Am I The Drama?, on 19 September.
In an interview with TMZ, Offset described Kiari as his “best solo work” yet and even worthy of an Album of the Year Grammy. When asked if he and Cardi could end up competing for the same award, he dismissed the idea.
“Never. No, no, no,” Offset replied. “I just want all peace, man, all for us to win, everybody gotta win. We got kids to take care of, we got to catch the dubs (wins).”
He also confirmed he’s rooting for Cardi’s upcoming release, saying, “For sure. That s**t hard, she’s gonna do her big one, too.”
Cardi filed for divorce from Offset for the second time in July 2024. The pair share three children: Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, who just turned one.
Reflecting on his own album, Offset explained why he feels confident about Grammy recognition:
“It was an album that meant a lot to me… just me being personal, me being vulnerable, about life. People like it and that’s a blessing.”
