Senator Aminu Tambuwal, representing Sokoto South, has stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would have performed better as Nigeria’s president than Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives criticized President Tinubu’s leadership, pointing out his failure to appoint ambassadors more than two years into his administration.
“Atiku is better at getting the job done than Tinubu. Atiku is better in many ways, in understanding the dynamics of running the government,” Tambuwal said.
The senator argued that Tinubu’s political experience has largely been confined to Lagos State and does not translate into effective federal governance.
“Tinubu has always been confined to locality in Lagos and has never been a federal operator, he does not understand the system,” he remarked.
Tambuwal further lamented:
“Look at it, up till now we don’t have ambassadors, two years and almost three months into the administration, what does that tell you?”
