Based in South Africa, she has captivated global audiences with her electrifying sets, signature dance moves, and unique sound — earning the title “princess of amapiano” from Billboard.
In a recent street-style interview with Isaac Hindin-Miller, Uncle Waffles opened up about her personal life, sharing some of her favorite places in Johannesburg and her future dreams.
When asked about her ideal neighborhood, she revealed her sights are set on Constantia Kloof.
“I want to build in Constantia. Hopefully, one day I’m going to have a home there. It just gives safe. It gives home,” she said.
The amapiano star also highlighted her go-to restaurants:
-
The 11th Floor – where she enjoys “a twist on some South African classics” like beef curry and samp.
-
Ukko – a popular drinks spot known for its colorful, glittery cocktails that are perfect for girls’ night outs.
-
Club Como – another favorite for good food and vibes.
On nightlife, Uncle Waffles keeps it authentic. Her favorite venue to perform at is Cosmopolitan in Maboneng, which she loves for its accessibility and youthful energy.
“It’s a venue that a lot of young kids can afford, so I love playing there. You get good interactions with the kids,” she explained.
For her own nights out, she prefers Louis, where she feels right at home.
“I know the manager so I get a nice corner there, and I’ll be breaking it down. Nobody can take a video of me,” she added with a laugh.
With her global influence and strong connection to local culture, Uncle Waffles continues to embody the spirit of amapiano both on and off the stage.
