Popular Nigerian singer, Seyi Shay, has faulted the growing narrative that men are not important, describing it as dangerous and misleading.
The music star argued that many women who grew up with a father figure tend to be more stable, with stronger values and access to better opportunities, compared to those who didn’t.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, the 39-year-old singer said the notion that “men are not important” is only an agenda designed to create more broken homes.
“Most women who have a father figure in their lives are generally more stable. They had access to better education and good morals growing up than the ones that don’t,” she explained.
She further noted that such upbringing helps set higher standards in relationships, both in marriage and friendships.
“All this narrative of men not being important is bullsh*t. It’s just an agenda for more divisions in our homes so we can churn out more broken souls and lost females and males,” she added.
Seyi Shay also reflected on motherhood, saying she is grateful she didn’t have a daughter in her 20s. According to her, she now has the wisdom and experience needed to guide her child and help her avoid the same mistakes she made in the past when it comes to men, friendships, and life choices.
