Nigerian singer and songwriter Adekunle Gold has opened up about his deep sense of responsibility toward his wife, Simi, and their daughter, Adejare.
Speaking on the latest episode of the NotJustOk podcast, the Afrobeats star revealed that while he’s willing to accept failure in his music career, he would never tolerate failure as a father or husband.
“My family is my centre. I don’t joke with my family. I can afford to be a failed musician, not a failed father or a man. That’s not negotiable for me,” he stated.
Adekunle Gold went on to share that one of his biggest life goals is to give his daughter a better life than he had growing up, emphasizing that this motivation fuels his hard work and dedication.
He also revealed that his song “My Love Is The Same” was inspired by his desire to be a present and loving father.
“All I wanted to be is to do more for my own daughter because I can’t afford to bring her to the kind of life that I grew up living. It has to be way better. And that’s why I’m working hard,” he added.
Fans have praised the singer for his heartfelt outlook on family, describing him as a role model for responsible fatherhood.
