“The world will know the kind of snake you are” – Adunni Ade Vows to Expose Actress Behind False Story

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has won her defamation lawsuit against Polace Media Limited, the parent company of NaijaNews.com, over a false publication linking her romantically with former senator Dino Melaye.

The 49-year-old actress announced her victory on Instagram on Tuesday, sharing screenshots of the court judgment and celebrating the win as a triumph for truth and integrity.

“I won my case – Adunni Ade vs. Polace Media Limited (www.naijanews.com). A false story was published about me, but truth stood tall. This judgment reaffirms that privacy matters – and so does integrity. Justice delayed isn’t justice denied,” she wrote.

According to court documents, Adunni filed the suit on July 3, 2024, claiming that the story titled “Six Popular Nigerian Celebrities Who Have Been Accused of Dating Dino Melaye” was false, defamatory, and violated her right to privacy.

Delivering judgment, Justice Ibironke Harrison ruled that the publication was unfair and damaging to her reputation. The court awarded Adunni ₦20 million in general damages and ordered NaijaNews.com to delete her name and photograph from the report.

The actress, who praised her lawyer Olumide Babalola for his representation, warned those who evade court summons to “stand still so you can be served.”

Adunni also hinted at internal betrayal in the entertainment industry, accusing a fellow actress of spreading falsehoods to blogger Cutie Julls.

“And to you, my fellow actress who told a false story to the Cutie Julls, don’t worry, very soon the world will know the kind of snake you are. Envy and bitterness live and breathe in you,” she wrote.

The mother of two revealed that this was not her only legal victory, adding, “I’ve won two cases already. A few more to go.”
