Trump Slams Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Invitation as “Absolutely Ridiculous”

US President Donald Trump has criticized the decision to have Bad Bunny perform at the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, calling it “absolutely ridiculous.”

During an interview on Newsmax TV’s Greg Kelly Reports, Trump expressed disbelief that the Puerto Rican rapper and singer had been chosen to headline next year’s event, despite admitting he had “never heard” of the global superstar.

“The NFL just chose the Bad Bunny rabbit or whatever his name is,” Greg Kelly said, prompting Trump to reply:

“I’ve never heard of him. I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

The NFL and Apple Music officially announced last month that Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show — his only scheduled US performance for that year.

The announcement comes as part of his upcoming “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” World Tour, which notably skips US cities.

In a recent interview with I-D Magazine, Bad Bunny revealed that fears of ICE raids influenced his decision not to tour in the United States.
